If the ignition is turned off and back on it cranks over normal again for 4 -5 seconds.I found the change in tone of the engine is linked to p0201 p0202 p0203 p0204 appearing. i checked on the diagnostics and it says the desired fuel pressure is around 4400 psi which it does reach but as soon as the engine noise changes it drops to around 2000
In addition, now that the engine is running I can confirm that Fordiag shows and fuel pressure of 28 Bar at idle. Since the engine is running and Ford state the idle pressure should be 250 Bar +/- 50 Bar then it would appear that Fordiag pressure needs a x10 factor applied. Anyway, thanks again to everyone for saving my weekend.
Think the oil cooler thermostat is only available from ford (the one on the water pump) the standard thermostat in the housing on the gear box side is available from most motor factors but i found the o-ring on these to be thinner so when its seated in the housing the o-ring does'nt actually get squashed enough to make a seal so if you buy an after market thermostat keep the one you removed

The relay is an internal part of the bcm and can not be changed, if the fuse is ok and getting power then the next step would be to check for power and ground at the fuel pump connector. Sometimes beating on the fuel tank with the ignition switched on can get the pump to work.
