1 Answer. I have a 2005 XL1200C and have no problem getting to the battery. You need to remove the cover on the left side of the bike. It is held on by 3 plastic clips. 2 on top and 1 on the bottom. Remove the plastic electronic harness by sliding to the right. Use a socket to remove the bracket and take it off.
